Newsroom's Pet of the Month: meet Thomas!

By Lauren Hunter Multimedia Journalist

Some may say Thomas is a star because this article is his second time making an appearance on AccessWDUN.com.

Thomas was featured earlier this week in the series "Wag-alongs: tales from the furry side" hosted by Jacobs Media General Manager Bill Maine. Bill and Thomas spent some time together exploring the downtown Gainesville square and checking out the scarecrow displays.

Thomas is a six-year-old Terrier mix who is currently a resident at the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia. During his outing with Bill, Thomas showed that he does well on a leash and enjoys a nice walk, but also does not mind plopping down for a quick snooze. Check out the full video from Thomas's Wag-along by clicking this link.

Staff at the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia also want potential adopters to know that November is Adopt-a-Senior month. Throughout the month, adoption fees for HSNEGA's two senior animals, Bear and Scarlett, are only $50. The reduced adoption fees are in comparison to the usual $100 for dogs ages 6 months or older.

Bear is a 7-year-old Terrier mix who weighs 66 pounds. Scarlett is a 9-year-old Domestic Shorthaired cat. More information about them is on their adoption pages.
