Gainesville man charged in November child molestation case

A Gainesville man was arrested Friday and remains in the Hall County Jail following a child molestation investigation that began in November of 2020.

According to a press release from the Hall County Sheriff's Office, 23-year-old Manuel Aguilar-Reyes is charged with aggravated child molestation for the crime that happened in November.

An initial investigation determined Aguilar-Reyes committed the crime against a female child, which resulted in physical injury to that child, according to the release. Aguilar-Reyes was reportedly familiar with the victim before the incident.

The release states deputies first learned of the crime on the day it occured after being contacted by Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Deputies then notified investigators and the Hall County Division of Family and Children Services, and the investigation began.

Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Aguilar-Reyes on Thursday, Jan. 21 after several interviews and forensic testing. Sheriff's Office Warrants Units deputies than arrested him on Friday, Jan. 22.

The release states Aguilar-Reyes remained in the Hall County Jail without bond on Monday.

The case is still under investigation by the Sheriff's Office.
