Investigators with the Hall County Sheriff's Office have charged a Gainesville man with rape in connection with an incident that took place in Dec. 2020.
According to a press release from the Sheriff's Office, investigators obtained the arrest warrant for 22-year-old Joseph Chance Goodman on Wednesday. Deputies then served Goodman the warrant at the Hall County Jail, where has been since Dec. 18, 2020, for a probation violation, according to the release.
The release states Goodman is accused of committing the act of rape against an adult female victim between Dec. 13 and 14 of 2020. The incident occurred at his residence in the 3,000 block of Chapperal Drive. The victim first reported the crime to deputies on Dec. 14.
The case is still under investigation by the Sheriff's Office.
