Augusta ex-pharmacist pardoned by Trump on health care fraud

By The Associated Press

AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — A former Georgia pharmacist convicted of health care fraud is among 73 people pardoned by outgoing President Donald Trump.

John Duncan Fordham of Augusta was convicted in 2005 of one count of health care fraud after an eight-day jury trial. Prosecutors alleged that Fordham kicked back money to former state Rep. Robin L. Williams in exchange for a lucrative contract with the East Georgia Community Mental Health Center.

Center leader Michael Brockman was convicted of taking bribes for the contracts. Others convicted included lobbyist and former Atlanta Braves pitcher Rick Camp and lobbyist Chad Long, grandson of former Georgia House Speaker Tom Murphy.

Fordham was released from federal prison in 2009.
