White County 9-1-1 received a call reporting a mobile home fire at 125 Autumnwood Way, Cleveland, at 2:49 a.m. Sunday, said Public Safety Director David Murphy in a statement.

“The reporting party told 9-1-1 dispatchers that occupants were trapped inside the residence and he was attempting to rescue them,” Murphy said.

Firefighters arrived to find fire in the middle portion of the mobile home.

“EMS treated a male patient who had to be flown by air ambulance to the Grady Burn Center,” Murphy’s statement reads. Two occupants of the home died at the scene.

The fire remains under investigation by the Georgia State Fire Marshal’s Office and White County Sheriff’s Office.

White County stations, 4, 5, 2 and Cleveland Fire were dispatched with EMS to the scene. Hall County Fire Services and Lee Arrendale State Prison Fire Department provided mutual aid.
