COVID-19 sending Banks County sixth graders back to digital learning Aug. 26-Sept. 8

The coronavirus pandemic has resulted in the closure of sixth grade at Banks County Middle School for the next two weeks.

“Due to students with a positive COVID-19 test, and a large number of sixth graders who have been exposed, BCMS sixth grade will pivot to digital learning beginning Wednesday, Aug. 26,” a social media post from the school states. “No sixth-grade students should report to BCMS on Tuesday, Aug. 25.”

The closure affects only sixth grade at the school.

“Our sixth-grade staff will move to digital learning from Aug. 26 through Sept. 8,” the post reads. “Should the closure need to be extended, BCMS staff will communicate with parents as soon as possible.”
