The First Friday concert sponsored by the City of Gainesville each month through the summer has been canceled for August.
The concert featuring The Fly Betty Band was set for Friday night in Roosevelt Square, but due to increasing COVID-19 cases and the extension of action from Governor Brian Kemp, city officials decided to cancel.
The First Friday program brings free concerts to Downtown Gainesville the first Friday of every month from May to September. It's put together by Main Street Gainesville.
Gainesville officials confirmed that so far, the August 7 concert is the only concert that has been canceled in the line up.
