GBI announces arrest of Banks County man for child pornography

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Banks County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a man for five counts of sexual exploitation of children (possession of child pornography), the GBI announced Thursday.

Johnathan Walls, 24, was charged by the GBI’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit.

The arrest followed execution of a search warrant at Walls’ home by deputies and GBI agents.

“The search warrant and arrest warrant were related to an investigation being conducted by the GBI’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit that began as a result of a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) regarding Walls’ online activity,” according to GBI spokeswoman Natalie Ammons.

Walls is being held in the Banks County Detention Center.

Anyone with information about other cases of child exploitation is asked to contact the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit at (404) 270-8870.
