A domestic dispute on July Fourth resulted in a shooting in Banks County.
“The Banks County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic dispute involving a male that had received two gunshot wounds to his body,” said Chief Deputy Shawn Wilson. “The incident occurred on Leachman Road in Commerce. The male was transported to an area hospital for care.”
The name of the victim and his condition have not been released yet.
Personnel from the Banks County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division are continuing the investigation.
Wilson said no further details are available at this time, but more information will be released by noon Monday.
Deputies and Banks County Fire/EMS were dispatched at 11:22 p.m. Saturday.
