Buford man facing charges of electronic porn, child exploitation

A Buford man is behind bars following an investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit.

According to the Gwinnett Daily Post, Evan Charles Rider, 29, was arrested by Gwinnett County Police on April 2nd. He faces charges of computer or electronic pornography and child exploitation.

A statement from the GBI said Rider was engaged in sexually explicit online chat with someone he believed was a juvenile. The arrest was part of investigations conducted by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

The GBI asks that anyone who has additional information on the case about Rider or other child exploitation cases call the GBI's Investigation Child Exploitation Unit at 404-270-8870.
