Water from the Commerce Water System is safe to drink.
Commerce Mayor Clark made the announcement Friday afternoon, adding downtown businesses are open and restaurants are prepared to handle to-go orders and offer curbside service.
“It’s safe to drink and cook with the water now,” Hill said after taking a drink of city water.
A Boil Water Advisory was issued earlier this week after a contractor cut into the water main to the city’s water treatment plant, affecting Commerce and a section of Banks Crossing.
