UNG recognized by Fulbright Student Program

The University of North Georgia has been named as one of the top institutes for the Fulbright U.S. Student program for the 2019-2020 academic year.

UNG is the only university in Georgia to receive the recognition for the student program. Four other Georgia higher education institutions were named to the top producer list on the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program, which is for faculty, administrators and other professional researchers.

The Fulbright program is a prestigious and competitive cultural exchange program that enables graduates and graduate students to travel overseas to continue their education. According to the Fulbright website, over 160 countries participate as a way to improve intercultural relations. Since 2015, 18 UNG graduates have accepted the Fulbright scholarship and gone abroad.

This is the third year in a row that UNG has received the recognition.
