Woman accused of stealing $168k from Hall County employer

A Gillsville woman has bonded out of the Hall County Jail after she was accused of stealing roughly $168,000 from her employer.

Heather Harrison Pile, 38, was arrested Monday and charged with felony theft by conversion, according to the Hall County Sheriff's Office.

The Sheriff's Office states Pile had access to a company credit card while she worked in the accounting department of Kipper Tool Company. Sometime between January and October 2020, authorities believe Pile used the credit card to pay her own personal bills.

Company representatives contacted the Sheriff's Office on October 23 after discovering irregularities in the company's books. Pile was arrested Monday and then bonded out of jail that evening. Her bond was $5,700.

The case is active and ongoing, according to the Sheriff's Office.
