Hall drug suspect tried to ram deputies to avoid arrest

By AccessWDUN staff

An inmate at the Hall County Jail used a cellblock phone to arrange drug deals with a woman on the outside, and when deputies tried to arrest her, she rammed them with her car, authorities said Tuesday.

Shannon Myria Bouchereau, 44, of Gillsville was wanted for distributing methamphetamine. When deputies located her in the parking lot of a business in the 1000 block of Jesse Jewell Parkway, she fled in her car, striking a law enforcement vehicle with two deputies inside, a news released from the Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad said. She also nearly struck an officer who was approaching her on foot, but the deputy managed to jump out of the way.

Bouchereau was arrested the next day at the home of a friend who lived in the 1000 block of Lathem Drive. She was found in possession of over five ounces, or approximately 145 grams) of methamphetamine packaged in six separate bags. Street value of the drugs is about $14,500, the release said.

During the weeks-long investigation that led deputies to Bouchereau, they discovered that Larry Termane Nuckles, 48, of Gainesville, already in jail on drug charges, was using the inmate cellblock phone at the jail to coordinate the drug deals with Bouchereau.

Bouchereau was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, trafficking methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, use of a communication device to facilitate a drug transaction, leaving the scene of an accident with damage.

Nuckles was charged with criminal attempt to traffic methamphetamine and use of a communication device to facilitate a drug transaction. He was already in jail because of October 2019 charges including distribution of heroin, methamphetamine and cocaine.

No other arrests are expected in this case.
