Toccoa man dies after being struck by vehicle

Alcohol played a part in the death of a Toccoa man who was struck by a vehicle in Toccoa Sunday night, according to GSP.

Eric Arthur, 53, was in the West lane of Collins Road near Sunset Lane when he was struck by a 2002 Ford Ranger pickup truck driven by Dustin McIntyre, 21, of Toccoa at 9:33 p.m., said Sgt. Casey Coffee of Georgia State Patrol Post 7 in Toccoa.

“Alcohol is considered a contributing factor for the pedestrian,” Coffee said.

No charges were filed.
