Juvenile arrested for making terroristic threats against North Hall Middle School

A 13-year-old North Hall Middle School male student has been arrested for making terroristic threats.

According to Hall County Sheriff's Spokesman Derrick Booth, on Tuesday deputies responded to a call from a parent about an alleged threat.

"The parent had learned from their child that another student at North Hall Middle School had reportedly been telling fellow students that he intended to bring a bomb to school on Wednesday, Jan. 22," Booth said.

Deputies then notified investigators who responded to the home of the reported suspect.

"Investigators obtained consent to search the suspect’s residence on Tuesday evening and found no evidence of explosives or other weapons at the home," he said.

However, after further investigation detectives gathered that the 13-year-old boy had not actually mentioned a bomb, but had verbally threatened to shoot up the school.

He is now charged with one felony count of making terroristic threats.

At last report, the boy was arrested on a juvenile complaint and released to the custody of his guardian on Thursday, Jan. 23. The case remains under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
