Two gang members face charges in Gilmer County drug bust

Police in Gilmer county have seized over 14 ounces of methamphetamine, an estimated street value of $20,000.

The Sheriff’s Office said that this is a result of an ongoing meth, trafficking, gang and terrorism investigation and two suspects have been arrested.

The first suspect, Anthony Joe “AJ” Starks has a long list of charges, including possession of methamphetamine, gang and terrorism acts. Starks was also wanted for a probation violation. They found three sawed off long guns, adding “possession of a firearm by a convicted felon” to his charges.

The second suspect is Glenn Cleveland Callahan, who has similar charges, including drug trafficking.

Both have been affiliated with the Ghost Face Gang.

On his Facebook page, Sheriff Nicholson states, “The excellent relationship between the Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office, Dept. of Community Supervision, and the U.S. Marshals Service Task Force is paying great dividends. I appreciate the work my deputies, along with K-9 Novak, are doing and the cooperation they are receiving from the Marshals Service and DCS.”
