SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) — A man crushed to death by a piece of equipment at a construction site in Georgia has been identified.
Daniel Wayne Blackmore, 20, was killed Monday on the sixth floor of a construction project in Savannah, Chatham County Coroner Bill Wessinger told news outlets.
Blackmore was working with a construction company at the former Tronox Plant, an old gypsum factory, news outlets reported. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Chatham County Coroner's Office are investigating the incident.
A crane operator was called in to remove the equipment and extricate Blackmore's body, Wessinger said. The body was taken to the state crime lab in Pooler for an autopsy, Savannah Morning News reported.
