Rabun deputies seize 1.8 pounds of meth during traffic stop

Two Lakemont residents were arrested for trafficking methamphetamine following a traffic stop that yielded almost two pounds of the drug near Tallulah Falls earlier this month.

On Aug. 3, a Rabun County sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle on Ga. 15 (U.S. 441) at Terrora Circle for a traffic violation.

Upon further investigation, deputies located 1.8 pounds of methamphetamine inside the vehicle.

Driver James Todd Davidson was arrested for trafficking methamphetamine, conspiracy to commit a felony, and a window tint violation, Rabun County sheriff’s records state.

Passenger Ashley Owens Shirley was arrested for trafficking methamphetamine and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Both were booked at the Rabun County Detention Center.
