A Maysville man died Sunday night when he was struck by a tractor trailer after being ejected from his motorcycle on Interstate 85 Southbound.
Gwinnett Police officials said Eduard Onufriychuk, 25, was driving northbound on the right shoulder of the interstate near Mile Marker 125 just before 10 p.m. when he attempted to swerve and avoid an unoccupied, parked Nissan Altima that was also in the shoulder.
According to the crash report, Onufriychuk hit the front, driver's side corner of the vehicle and was ejected from the motorcycle. He landed in the right travel lane of the interstate and was then struck and killed by a tractor trailer.
A passenger on Onufriychuk's motorcycle was able to jump off the back of the bike just prior to the collision between the motorcycle and the Nissan. The passenger sustained minor injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
