The city of Lawrenceville hopes it's residents will take part in the Light Lawrenceville Blue program to show support for law enforcement.
Lisa Sherman serves as the city's Chief Communications Officer and said officials hope to "have folks during the week that is designated as National Law Enforcement Appreciation Week, that is May 12th through 18th, to put a blue bulb in their porch lights."
She said they sold out of the 250 light bulbs they purchased for the initiative. The cost was $5 per bulb and the city is now telling residents where they can purchase a blue bulb directly from retailers.
Funds raised will be donated, Sherman said, "to a non-profit organization that serves our police department to assist with fallen officer's families, officers who've been hurt in the line of duty, and serves for educational purposes," called the Lawrenceville Police Benevolent Association.
