The City of Cornelia temporarily will close Elrod Street between Farlinger Street and Sugar Creek subdivision beginning early Saturday.
The closure will allow installation of a storm culvert pipe under the road.
The section of Elrod Street near the Futures Program (formerly Cornelia Elementary No. 2) will be closed from 7 a.m. Saturday, May 4, until 7 a.m. Monday, May 6.
City officials urge drivers to avoid the area if possible.
