Canopy falls off roof of Atlanta building, injures 2 people

By The Associated Press

ATLANTA (AP) — Authorities in Atlanta say two people were injured when a canopy fell off the roof of Ponce City Market.

News outlets report police say the two people have been hospitalized and are in stable condition. City police say the large white canopy also wrecked several electrical wires when it fell from the roof late Sunday.

The canopy's fall coincided with severe weather, though the cause of its fall is unclear.

The street outside the market was closed as Georgia Power worked to repair the wires.
