Gwinnett's long-time Elections Supervisor will be promoted and a search for her replacement is underway.
Even after an election season fraught with accusations of voter suppression, Lynn Ledford moves into a new position created just for her.
Officials say the promotion has nothing to do with any negative perceptions and the AJC reports applications for the Elections Supervisor position are being accepted through Tuesday.
Ledford will serve in an advisory role as Division Director and be instrumental in the implementation of new voting machines.
Ledford began working for the county in 1987 and became the county's Elections Supervisor in 2002.
