A Saturday-night wreck on Ga. 82 in Jackson County claimed the life of a Pendergrass man.
The wreck happened at 11:40 p.m. Saturday, March 23, in the area of Triple Lakes Lane.
A 2003 Ford Mustang driven by Kenny Ayers of Pendergrass was traveling east on Ga. 82 prior to failing to maintain lane, according to Georgia State Patrol Post 32 in Athens.
A 2004 Chevrolet Corvette driven by Aubrey Hollums of Pendergrass was traveling west on Ga. 82 in the westbound travel lane prior to the crash.
The Ford Mustang traveled into the westbound lane of Ga. 82 and struck the Chevrolet Corvette in the head-on collision, according to GSP.
Hollums suffered a life-threatening injury and later succumbed to his injuries at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, according to GSP.
Ayers suffered non-life-threatening injuries and also was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
