MACON, Ga. (AP) — A man who escaped from a Georgia jail and has been on the run for nearly four months is back in custody.
The Telegraph reports 23-year-old Jaylon Patrick was caught Monday after he and a passenger fled a traffic stop. Patrick was caught after a short foot chase. The passenger remains at large.
According to the Bibb County sheriff's office, Patrick had been working off community service hours at the sheriff's office car wash on Nov. 10 when a car pulled up, he jumped in and the car sped away. Authorities say Patrick now faces charges of felony escape before conviction and probation violation. He's being held without bond.
He had originally been held at the Bibb County Detention Center for theft by taking and a probation violation.
