Williams scores 17, leads Georgia St. past Little Rock 83-70

ATLANTA (AP) — Kane Williams had 17 points off the bench to carry Georgia State to an 83-70 win over Arkansas-Little Rock on Saturday.

Nelson Phillips had 14 points for Georgia State (21-9, 12-5 Sun Belt Conference), which earned its sixth consecutive home victory. Jeff Thomas added 14 points. Devin Mitchell had 13 points for the home team.

Rayjon Tucker had 26 points and eight rebounds for the Trojans (10-19, 5-11), who have now lost four consecutive games. Kris Bankston added 15 points. Deondre Burns had 14 points.

Markquis Nowell was held scoreless despite heading into the contest as the Trojans' second leading scorer at 12 points per game. He failed to make a shot from beyond the arc (0 of 5).

Georgia State finishes out the regular season against Georgia Southern on the road next Saturday. Arkansas-Little Rock plays Louisiana-Lafayette at home on Thursday.
