3 accused of fleeing Atlanta police, crashing into city bus

By The Associated Press

ATLANTA (AP) — Three people are accused of stealing an SUV, fleeing Atlanta police and crashing the stolen vehicle into a city bus carrying nearly 20 people.

News outlets report 18-year-old Tyreke Daniel, 20-year-old Richard Branford and a 16-year-old were arrested in the Thursday wreck.

Police say officers spotted the vehicle that morning and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver fled and crashed into the bus. Several passengers reported suffering minor injuries.

Daniel and Branford are charged with offenses including felony weapon possession and theft. It's unclear what charges, if any, have been filed against the 16-year-old. It's unclear if they have lawyers who can comment on their behalf.
