On Friday, Georgia DOT construction partners will reopen the Jesse Cronic Road Bridge over I-85 in Jackson County.
The bridge has been closed since June 14, 2019, for demolition and replacement. The bridge is scheduled to open in mid-afternoon following final inspections.
The Jesse Cronic Road Bridge is one of three overpass bridges that are being replaced along the I-85 corridor as part of the I-85 Widening Phase 1 project. The other two are located in Gwinnett County on Spout Springs Road and Flowery Branch Road.
Spout Springs Road Bridge was replaced and opened to traffic in July 2019
The Flowery Branch Road Bridge is scheduled to close in January 2020
Drivers are advised to obey posted speed limits and traffic control measures inside the project limits.
