Livestock was the only casualty in a barn fire Friday morning in East Hall County.
Hall County Fire Services responded to the scene in the 3900 block of P Davidson Road around 5 a.m. and found the 20-foot by 50-foot barn 75% involved in the fire. They were able to extinguish it.
Division Chief Zachary Brackett said while no humans suffered injury and no other buildings were affected, several cows in the barn were lost.
"Some of the cattle was able make it out, so it didn't kill all of them in the barn, but 17 of them did pass away," said Brackett.
The cause of the fire is undetermined, Brackett said. The Fire Marshal's Office will investigate the cause, as well as price the damages, both from the building and the livestock.
"The building itself is a total loss," said Brackett. "I don't have a value on it right now."
Brackett said they left the scene around 8 a.m.
