CLARKSTON, Ga. (AP) — A school near Atlanta has been shuttered in response to a threat made over the weekend.
WAGA-TV reports that the Atlanta Area School for the Deaf will be closed Tuesday as Clarkston police investigate. Superintendent John A. Serrano sent a letter to the community Monday notifying them of a threat, the details of which were not specified.
Serrano's letter says students should not report to class until further notice is given. The school has implemented security measures, including an increased police presence.
The latter thanks "individuals who have already come forward to aid the investigation."
