Habersham deputies arrest four after reported burglary

CLARKESVILLE — The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office has released preliminary details of an incident that resulted in four arrests Friday afternoon.

At 1:19 p.m. Friday, Habersham County deputies responded to the area of Panacea Lane, a Demorest address west of Clarkesville, for a reported burglary that had just occurred, according to Sheriff’s Lt. Matt Wurtz.

While on the way, Habersham County Dispatch provided deputies with a description of a possible suspect vehicle.

Deputies located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop at a convenience store at the corner of Ga. 197 in Clarkesville.

A firearm stolen out of Toccoa was located, and the investigation is ongoing, Wurtz said. Names of the four individuals arrested have not been released at the time of this report.

The investigation is ongoing, and more information will be available upon the completion, Wurtz said.
