Gwinnett investigators seek answers in murder-suicide

Gwinnett Police are investigating the motive behind a murder-suicide in Lawrenceville.

Detective David Smith says officers responded to the call Saturday morning to the Sugar Mill Apartment complex where they were told 48-year-old Kalvin Wright was inside with a gun. "When officers arrived, they tried to make contact with him and they were unable to make contact," explained Smith. "They then activated the SWAT team because of a possible barricaded gunman situation."

Smith says Wright shot his wife, 33 year old Gentorica Wright, Saturday morning possibly in front of their 3 children.

He says that, "It appears that the male shot the female, the mother, and then took the kids to the leasing office and dropped them off, and went back and shot himself."

He says he children are all under 10 years old and there was no recent history of domestic violence at the home.
