DAWSONVILLE — East Hall baseball took Game 1 of a crucial three-game series with Dawson County, 2-1, in a battle for the postseason on Monday in Dawsonville.
The Vikings (11-11, 6-7 Region 7-3A) used a complete game performance from Trey Campbell to keep the Tigers (10-13, 6-7) in check. Campbell allowed just 4 hits and struck out 3 batters en route to the win.
Meanwhile, Levi Crocker finished 2 for 3 with a run scored to help lead East Hall at the plate, while Trevor Rider had a hit and an RBI.
The Vikings and Tigers, currently tied for fourth place in 7-3A, play Game 2 on Wednesday in Rabbittown.

Collier Scott earned the win and Banks Griffith notched the save on Monday, as the Red Elephants (16-7, 7-3 Region 8-6A) held on for the win at Dacula.
Charlie Wall crushed a two-run home run for Gainesville to help the Red Elephants to a 3-0 lead after two innings.
Scott cruised through 5 innings, allowing just 5 hits and striking out 5 batters before yielding 2 runs in the 6th and giving way to Griffith.
Griffith ended any hopes of a Falcons comeback, allowing just 1 hit and and striking out 2 batters in 1 1/3 innings work.
Wall finished 2 for 3 at the plate with a run scored, while Griffith went 2 for 4 with a run scored. Scott also doubled, while Jared Smith, Cale Conley and Riley White also had hits.
Gainesville plays host to Dacula on Wednesday, currently sitting in second place in Region 8-6A.

Patrick Hickox pitched a shutout for the Dragons (15-7, 8-2 Region 8-4A), as they pulled out the victory on Monday in Atlanta.
Hickox yielded just 4 hits and struck out 4 batters in the complete game performance.
Jefferson put up all three runs in the fourth inning, as Sammy Elegreet had a hit and drove in a run. Justin Cole also had a double, while Zac Corbin also had a hit.
The Dragons will play host to St. Pius on Wednesday in Jefferson in the second of a three-game series.
