JEFFERSON — Gainesville baseball completed a season, three-game sweep over Jefferson on Thursday, fending off a late power surge from the Dragons in Jefferson.

Trailing 5-0 in the bottom of the sixth, Jefferson's Ryan Godfrey provided a jolt with a grand slam home run, but the Red Elephants (8-4) held on as Kyle York earned the win and Banks Griffith pitched 1 inning to record the save.

York went 6 innings, allowing just 4 hits and striking out 5 batters. Griffith allowed no hits and struck out 2 batters.

Jared Smith, Charlie Wall and Dalton Kyle each produced 2 hits for Gainesville, including a double and an RBI for Wall. Kyle also had an RBI. Clay Coffey also doubled. Cameron Wilson also had a hit and an RBI.

Zac Corbin and Justin Cole also provided hits for the Dragons (7-4).
