A trio of suspects, including a former school teacher and coach, were recently indicted in connection with a $6.2 million dollar drug bust near Oakwood last March.
According last Tuesday's indictment, a Hall County grand jury charged Karla Edith Alvarez, Monica Pascual Brito and Ricardo Pascual Brito with trafficking in cocaine and trafficking in illegal drugs.
Authorities arrested the female suspects while serving a search warrant at a residence on Crawford Oaks Drive off of McEver Road.
During the search, investigators said they seized 61 kilos of cocaine and one kilo of heroin.
Alvarez is a former Chestatee Middle School Academy Spanish teacher and girls' soccer coach. Investigators say the Britos are siblings. Ricardo Pascual Brito remains at large.
All three suspects lived in the same home, Hall County Sheriff's Lt. Scott Ware said shortly after the arrests.
