Girls basketball: Chestatee, North Hall, Lakeview, Union County, Buford make gains in region

ROSWELL — The Chestatee girls basketball team blew past Blessed Trinity for a 63-47 win after a nip-and-tuck first quarter on Friday night in Roswell.

The Lady War Eagles (9-14, 2-5 Region 7-AAAA) dropped in 12 3-pointers in the victory, including six from Peri Satterfield, who racked up a team-high 18 points (all on treys). Maggie McNair also scored 11, while Lindsey Caudell added 10.

Chestatee trailed 12-10 after the first quarter but pulled ahead 31-27 at the half and then grabbed full control in the third quarter for a 50-33 lead headed into the final eight minutes.

Katie Hynekamp scored a game-high 22 points for Blessed Trinity.


NORTH HALL GIRLS 74,
DAWSON COUNTY 69 OT

The Lady Trojans (11-10, 5-4 Region 7-AAA) out-scored the Lady Tigers (12-9, 4-5) 17-12 in overtime to seal the win on Friday in Gainesville.

Kaylee Sticker scored 22 points to lead Dawson County, while Sophia D'Oliveira added 19 and Anna Lowe 11.

Dawson County will look to bounce back at Greater Atlanta Christian at 4 p.m. Saturday.


LAKEVIEW ACADEMY GIRLS 58,
PROVIDENCE CHRISTIAN 43

The Lady Lions (15-7, 11-1 Region 8-A) pulled away early and led 30-18 at the half en route to the win on Friday.

Sadie Thrailkil scored 18 points and grabbed 7 rebounds and 4 steals to help lead Lakeview, while Tori Taylor scored 17 points. Maddie Blackburn also scored 11 points and added 4 assists. 

The Lady Lions play host to George Walton at 2 p.m. Saturday in Gainesville. 


UNION COUNTY GIRLS 61,
EAST HALL 53

The Lady Panthers (14-8, 5-5 Region 7-AAA)  knocked off the Lady Vikings (12-10, 5-4) for the second time this month behind 20 points from Bailey DanielKait McCarter added 15 in the win.

East Hall drilled 10 3-pointers, five from Carly Winters, but fell behind late in the contest.

The Lady Trojans will look to bounce back on Saturday against North Hall.

Union County travels to Lumpkin County on Tuesday.


BUFORD GIRLS 60,
CLARKE CENTRAL 29

The Lady Wolves (19-3, 10-0 Region 8-AAAAA) dominated to stay perfect in region on Friday in Athens.

Thirteen players scored for Buford, including 11 for Audrey Weiner. Mary Walters also scored 10, and Tory Ozment added 9 points.

Buford travels to Northwest Whitfield at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.


MADISON COUNTY GIRLS 73,
STEPHENS COUNTY 48

The Lady Indians dropped a Region 8-AAAA contest on Friday in Toccoa.

Tykia Thompson led Stephens County with 13 points and Bre Taylor scored 12.
