Boys basketball: Lakeview fends off RMA; Branch takes out Johnson; East Hall cruises

GAINESVILLE — The Lakeview Academy boys basketball team pushed past Riverside Military Academy for a 69-59 win on Friday in Gainesville.

Jack Blackburn helped lead the Lions (10-5, 7-0 Region 8-A) with 12 points, 8 assists and 7 rebounds, while Adam Cottrell also scored 12 points. Blake McIntyre also chipped in with 11 points and 6 assists, and Alec Bornhorst added 8 points and 8 rebounds. KJ Millwood also scored 8 points.

Lakeview will travel to Towns County for a 5:30 p.m. start on Saturday.

The Falcons claimed the region win on Friday night.

Justin Quick paced Flowery Branch with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists, while Patsheko Lutumba added 12 points, 9 rebounds and 3 steals. Myles Janess also scored 12 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.

Flowery Branch travels to Cedar Shoals on Saturday.

Johnson plays host to Walnut Grove on Saturday.


EAST HALL BOYS 81,
LUMPKIN COUNTY 43

Luke Cooper scored 19 first-half points, including going 5 of 6 from 3-point range to help lead the Vikings to the win on Friday in Valhalla.

DJ Gray also had 14 and Dee Evans added 10 for East Hall.

The Vikings (9-7, 5-1 Region 7-AAA) led 57-19 at halftime.

East Hall will play at Chestatee at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
