Volleyball: North Hall notches victories over JHS, GHS; East Hall, Branch win

OAKWOOD — North Hall volleyball claimed two victories on Tuesday in Oakwood, defeated Johnson 25-12, 25-18 and Gainesville 18-25, 25-17, 25-17.

Gainesville also defeated Johnson in the other match of the night, 27-25, 25-18.

Lily Paschall had 38 assists, 8 kills, 4 aces and 21 digs to pace the Lady Trojans, while Lena Strickland had 7 aces and 24 digs. Maci Gillespie also had 13 digs, and Melissa DeVerter had 17 kills, 4 blocks and 18 digs. Madison Brock finished with 8 kills, 2 aces and 10 digs; Autumn Tucker had 10 kills, 2 aces and 11 digs; 
Savannah Miller had 7 kills; and Caroline Brady had 2 kills, 4 aces and 20 digs.

For Johnson (1-3), Grace Eidson had 3 Aces, 18 kills, 18 assists and 4 digs, while Alivia Farley added 12 kills, 16 assists and 4 digs. Julia Bowers had 4 aces and 6 digs, and Emma Hernandez had 10 kills, 2 blocks, 3 digs. 

The Lady Knights travel to Winder-Barrow on Thursday.

North Hall plays in the Big Frog Invitational on Saturday at North Forsyth.

WHITE COUNTY 1

The Lady Vikings took their season record to 7-3 by defeating the Lady Warriors 25-14, 26-24, 22-25, 25-16 on Tuesday in Cleveland.

Savannah Thellman had 11 points. scored on serve with 5 aces, 3 kills, 6 digs, 1 block and 32 assists to help lead the Lady Vikings, while Rachel McGee had 5 points scored on serve with 3 aces and 3 kills. Summer Lindsey also had 4 points scored on serve with 1 ace, 2 assists and 20 digs, and Tessa Rider scored 14 points on serve with 5 aces, 18 digs, 1 assist and 9 kills. Janelly Lara scored 9 points on serve with 3 aces, 3 assists, 2 kills and 17 digs; Niyah Rucker had 5 points scored on serve with 15 kills, 16 digs and 1 block; and Macy Thomas had 7 kills on the night.

East Hall will play host to Tallulah Falls and Jackson County, beginning at 5 p.m. Thursday.


BRANCH SWEEPS TRI-MEET

The Lady Falcons (4-0) topped Fideles Christian 2-0 (26-24, 25-20) and King's Ridge Christian 2-0 (25-15, 25-12) on Tuesday on the road.

Middle blocker Anna Marshall had 6 kills and 1 ace, while Oriah Ware, who had 17 assists, 1 kill, 3 aces, and 1 block assist in the win over Fideles, Libero, Ellie Luciani also had 15 digs.

Outside hitter, Ashley Scott had 2 kills and 5 aces in the win over King's Ridge, and outside hitter, Katie Williams had 2 kills, 3 aces, and a solo block.

The Lady Falcons continue their season on Thursday at Jefferson against the Lady Dragons and Oconee County.
