Retired TMC professor succumbs to injuries after White County crash

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland woman injured in Thursday night’s wreck on Ga. 115 in the Leaf Community of White County has died.

Helen B. Adams, 90, succumbed to her injuries Friday.

The two-vehicle wreck happened about 7 p.m. Thursday on Ga. 115 East at The Cottage House Restaurant, according to White County Chief Deputy Bob Ingram.

Ingram said a 2001 Buick Century driven by Adams pulled into the path of a 2003 Ford Ranger pickup truck driven by Angel Gaddis of Clarkesville.

Dr. Adams was a retired instructor and drama director at Truett-McConnell College in Cleveland and received the 1997 Meritorious Service Award at the college for showing loyalty and commitment to the institution.
