Two qualify for open Clarkesville City Council seat

CLARKESVILLE — Two people have qualified to seek a seat on the Clarkesville City Council in June.

The vacancy was created by the resignation of Casey Ramsey, who relocated out of the city.

Qualifiers are Terry Gladden and Jerry Hamilton, according to Habersham County Election Supervisor Laurel Ellison.

The election will be held Tuesday, June 20, at the Ruby Fulbright Aquatic Center near Clarkesville.

Absentee and early voting will begin May 30 and continue through June 16 in the Habersham County Elections and Voter Registration Office, 555 Monroe St., Clarkesville, in the basement of the former Habersham County Courthouse on the Clarkesville Square.

The deadline to register to vote for the Clarkesville Special Election is Monday, May 22.
