Man charged with invasion of privacy in Hall County

A Forsyth County man is charged with invasion of privacy in Hall County for allegedly hiding a camera in a woman's bedroom.

Hall County Sheriff's Lt. Scott Ware said the victim discovered the camera disguised as an electrical outlet last month.

Vernon Kyle Rowe, 30, of Cumming, faces the charge. He allegedly observed, photographed and recorded the activities of the victim by using a camera disguised as an electrical outlet.

"I guess there was a gap in the outlet and there was a light glowing from the electrical outlet that she was able to detect over time," Ware said.  "That drew her attention to the outlet. She took the outlet off and was able to discover the small camera recording device that had been placed."

Ware said investigators believe the camera had been in the bedroom since July. The victim notified authorities when she discovered it.

Ware did not elaborate on how Rowe was able to get the device into the victim's home.

Rowe was arrested Monday, Dec.18 and has since posted $5,000 bond. Ware said the case remains under investigation.
