Boys basketball: Banks County moves to 7-0; Dawson, Chestatee win; GHS falls at buzzer

OAKWOOD — The Banks County boys basketball team stayed perfect on the season with a 64-54 win over West Hall on Saturday in Oakwood.

Carl Cleveland scored 22 points for the Leopards (7-0), while Darius Bonds added 14 in the win. Dylan Orr also chipped in with 13 points and Gabe Martin added 11.

Noah Edmondson led the Spartans with 15 points, while Braden Martin added 11, Tae Reid 9 and Jesse Mallak 7 for a West Hall team playing its fourth game in just six days and third in a row.

Banks led 37-32 at the half and responded after the Spartans (4-5) cut the lead to 52-49 at the end of the third quarter.  

The Leopards play host to Monticello on Tuesday in Homer.

West Hall plays host to Dawson County on Tuesday in Oakwood.

Cooper Wilson put up 23 points to lead the War Eagles (3-6) to the win on Saturday in Bogart.

Cameron Gwyn also scored 11 for Chestatee, and Josue Bustamante put up 10 points.

The Rams won via a tip-in at the buzzer in overtime on Saturday

Bailey Minor scored 17 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead the Red Elephants, while Jarrel Rosser had 17 points 8 rebounds.


DAWSON COUNTY BOYS 53,
FORSYTH CENTRAL 39

The Tigers moved to 6-2 with a road win over the Bulldogs on Saturday in Cumming.

Jeremiah Crumley scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Dawson County, while Campbell Reed added 16 points. Cullen Reed also scored 8 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

The Tigers travel to White County on Monday.
