Two arrested for trafficking heroin, other charges during Habersham County traffic stop

Two people were arrested Saturday in Habersham County after Sheriff's deputies found drugs and cash during a traffic stop.
 
Special Agent In Charge Mitchell Posey with the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office said the deputy found heroin, marijuana, mushrooms, MDMA (also known as Ecstacy or "Molly"), THC wax and THC edibles, valued on the street at $3,420 total. Deputies also seized $1,269.
 
Michael Christopher Kote, 46, of Longmont, Colo. and Sylvia Marie Hoss, 23, of Trilby, Fla. face charges of trafficking heroin, possession of marijuana less than an ounce, possession with intent to distribute THC wax and edible both a scheduled I narcotic. They were pulled over for window tint violation and brake light malfunction on Georgia Highway 15 North near Toccoa Highway.
 
Posey said they are not sure why Kote and Hoss were in Habersham County, nor did they know what the relationship between the two was.
 
Both were booked into the Habersham County Detention Center.
