Jackson County Sheriff's Office investigators hope the public can help identify two men wanted for questioning in a case of theft.
A Facebook post from the sheriff's office indicates the theft involves a cash exchange scam. The pair allegedly confuses store clerks with the scheme, leaving with more money than they came into the business with.
The social media entry late last week indicates both men speak with a foreign accent. One of them is missing part of his right thumb.
"Please be on the lookout for the above individuals who are targeting the Jackson County area," authorities stated in the post.
Sheriff Janis Mangum said the scammers made off with between $200 and $300 from the Fast Phil's Citgo on U.S. 129 on November 18.
To provide information on the suspects, authorities urged people to contact Jackson County Sheriff's Office Investigator Wes Pearson by email or at (706) 387-6054. The sheriff's office tip line is (706) 367-3784.
