Spa owner in Oakwood charged with keeping place of prostitution

The owner of an Oakwood spa was arrested this week, charged with keeping a place of prostitution.

Oakwood Police Chief Randall Moon said the arrest of Chom Sik Ray, 70, of Duluth, stemmed from an October 27 undercover operation at Coco Spa on Mundy Mill Road near Hudson Dr.

"We received enough information and evidence to prove that she did have knowledge as to what was going on in her place of business, and she was the main business license holder," Moon said.

In the October operation, police arrested spa employee Myoung Tucker on charges of prostitution, masturbation for hire and offering massage without a license.

Officers shut down the business after Tucker's arrest.  It remains closed, according to Moon.

"The city (of Oakwood) has looked at its ordinance and is looking at adopting a stricter ordinance since we came up with some new things this time, and until then...the business has been shut down, doors are closed and locked."

According to the Hall County Sheriff's Office, Ray was picked up from the Dekalb County Jail on Wednesday to face the Oakwood charge.

Moon said he doesn't anticipate any new arrests or charges in the case.
