Boys prep basketball: Lakeview, West Hall, Dawson each notch wins

DEMOREST — The Lakeview Academy boys basketball team cruised to a 72-47 win over Rabun County on Monday in the Piedmont College Hardwood Classic in Demorest.

Griffin Sewell and Drew Cottrell each scored 20 points for the Lions (1-1). Adam Cottrell added 11 points.

Lakeview plays again at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Hardwood Classic against Norcross.

The Spartans were led by 19 points from Noah Edmondson in the win on Monday. Jeremiah Prather also scored eight for West Hall.

The Spartans also lost in overtime on Saturday, falling 62-59 to Social Circle, as the Redskins scored six unanswered to force OT.

Prather led West Hall with 16 points, while Datavian Buffington added 10.

West Hall will take on Johnson at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday at the East Jackson Thanksgiving Tournament in Commerce.


DAWSON COUNTY BOYS 58,
DUNWOODY 46

The Tigers (2-0) advanced to the championship game of the Tiger Tipoff Classic on Monday thanks to the win over Dunwoody in Dawsonville. 

Dawson County will next play seventh-ranked Collins Hill in the Tipoff championship game at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The Tigers were led by Jeremiah Crumley with 20 points and 5 assists. Cullen Reed had 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. Campbell Reed pitched in 11 points, and Ryan Gallenkamp had 10 rebounds.
