JEFFERSON — The West Hall boys basketball team opened its season with a 81-62 win over Jackson County on Tuesday in Jefferson.
Dee Buffington scored 21 points to pace the Spartans (1-0), while Tae Ried added 19 points. Braden Martin also scored 13 and Sawyer Passmore chipped in with 11 points.
West Hall plays again Saturday at the East Jackson Thanksgiving Tournament.
