Softball: North Hall shuts out East Hall to finish with top seed in 7-AAA

GAINESVILLE — The North Hall softball team solidified its spot as the No. 1 team in Region 7-AAA by defeating East Hall 8-0 in Gainesville on Thursday.

The Lady Trojans (9-7, 9-2 Region 7-AAA) scored two runs in the first inning.  Niki Carver (1-for-3, 1 RBI, 2 Runs) crossed the plate on a fielder's choice, and Kaillee Dyer (2 Runs, 2 SB) followed her home later in the inning on a single by Macy Clark (1-for-3, 2 RBI).  North Hall added two more runs in the third inning on a double by Ashlyn Brewster (2-for-3, 1 RBI, 1 Run) and a triple by Julian Garrett (1-for-3, 1 RBI, 1 Run).  The Lady Trojans finished their scoring with four runs in the fourth inning on hits by Devin Imai (1-for-2, 1 Run), Carson Negley (1-for-1, 1 Run), Carver, and Brewster.

Carver pitched a complete game shutout over 5 innings, allowing two hits and two walks. She also struck out two batters.  

Macy Banks gave up only four earned runs on eight hits and one walk along with two strikeouts for East Hall. Abigail Brown and Charli Cox had hits for the Lady Vikings (12-10, 7-4 Region 7-AAA).

The Lady Trojans finish their regular season on Tuesday night at home against Fannin County.  

The Lady Vikings travel to Commerce on Monday.
