The Georgia Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday released dashcam video that shows, in part, the shooting Monday at the Georgia State Patrol post in Gainesville.
The video is the only recording of the incident that took place. There is no sound because audio is only activated on the dashcam when the blue lights are activated.
The shooter, Leighton Beaux Marchetta was denied bond by a judge in a closed-circuit hearing. Marchetta requested a court-appointed lawyer, according to Hall County Sheriff's Deputy Nicole Bailes.
On Monday, Marchetta drove up the the state patrol post on Cleveland Highway and fired two shots of troopers from a high-powered rifle. One of the troopers returned fire, hitting Marchetta in the right shoulder. He was taken into custody and taken to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment.
Marchetta faces two charges of aggravated assault on a police officer.
